Dharma's Dog Pods are handmade in Bali by Dharma himself — a local craftsman who builds every pod to order. Each dog carrier is shaped around your bike and your dog: the right fit on the rack, the right size for your pup, the right colour and finish for you. We build in hand-laid fibreglass rather than the plywood other Bali makers use, because Bali's climate destroys wood — and we want your pod to last as long as your dog rides with you.

Built different
Most dog pod builders in Bali still use plywood or timber. It looks fine in the workshop. Six months of monsoon rain, salty Canggu air and 95% humidity later, it doesn't. Wood absorbs water, swells, warps, splits, grows mould and eats screws alive. We've seen it dozens of times.
That's why every Dharma's Dog Pod is hand-laid in fibreglass — the same material used for boat hulls in Bali's harbours, surfboards in Uluwatu, and the bodywork on your scooter itself. If it survives the ocean and the Bali sun, it'll survive the school run.
How we build in fibreglassFibreglass doesn't absorb water. Bali downpour? Beach spray? It runs straight off — no swelling, no soaking through to your dog.
Wood pods grow mould in tropical humidity within months. Fibreglass is inert — it won't rot, mildew or smell, even after years of wet seasons.
Fibreglass is dramatically lighter than equivalent wood, so your scooter handles better, brakes shorter, and uses less fuel.
Layered glass fibre flexes and absorbs hits instead of cracking like ply. The same reason it's used for boat hulls and surfboards.
Gel-coat finish doesn't fade, crack or peel under tropical sun the way painted plywood does after one dry season.
Fibreglass is laid into a custom mould — meaning curved, aerodynamic shapes and a perfect glass-smooth finish that wood simply can't match.
